Cooper Manning is the eldest son of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning and the older brother of former NFL quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Eli Manning. Born on March 6, 1974, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Cooper was a standout high school football player at Isidore Newman School, where he played as a wide receiver. His promising football career was cut short by a diagnosis of spinal stenosis, a narrowing of the spine that can cause significant nerve damage, which forced him to retire from football before playing at the collegiate level.
Despite his early retirement from sports, Cooper has been successful in his professional life. He works in the energy sector and is a partner in AJ Capital Partners and also serves as the Principal and Senior Managing Director of Investor Relations for the energy firm Howard Weil. Beyond his business career, Cooper is also recognized for his role in media; he is the host of the show "The Manning Hour" on Fox Sports, where he provides humorous takes on sports and interviews with athletes and celebrities.
Cooper often makes appearances involving his famous family and has been involved in various Manning-related projects, including "Peyton's Places," the ESPN documentary series hosted by his brother Peyton. Despite his early setback in athletics, Cooper remains an important and charismatic figure in the Manning family legacy.
